In Costa Rica - Day 1

Hi Everyone,
We made it to Costa Rica and didn't lose one student. The trip was uneventful. We had enough time in Atlanta to pick up some coffee between flights (Dad, don't even think about what a cup of coffee costs at the airport!) Costa Rica greeted us with every student's host family there to pick them up; it was lovely to be able to let our guard down for a bit of time and let the students go once we knew they were in safe hands....We will meet back up with them on Tuesday morning at UNA (National University of Costa Rica).

The weather here is fantastico, about 75 and breezy, darn near perfect. Chuck and I checked into our apart-hotel (hey, I can't make this stuff up)...our rooms are fine; maybe a bit of an India
flashback. We have three bedrooms, which we don't really need, but then we also have a nice living room with a dining table, some couches and the ever present TV. We have a patio with some chairs and a sort of washing machine thingy on it. I will get them to show me how to use the washer, just as soon as I figure which soap in the super market is laundry soap. We ate dinner early - 5pm local time as we were starved and now we're back in our rooms blogging. We both really enjoyed trying out our Spanish on our nice waitress, who spoke no English.

Tomorrow I pull out my camera and start taking photos! Good night all, Pat
